The back is definitely better. Still not 100% but close enough for me.

Today is already a day in a not great week. The boss is still pushing to write 25+ new accounts by the end of March. It's unrealistic on every level. It's also immoral because Daddy is going to write accounts in son's code so that he gets credit for them.

My part-timer really needs to quit here. She's run herself ragged, has no respect for the boss, and hates coming to work and the job she's being asked to do. I'm encouraging her to quit because she can pick up a few extra hours at Walmart and make up the money while still seeing her kids/family more than she does now. I even threatened to fire her this morning cuz she was crying in frustration.

Today is the first time I've ever been concerned for my safety at this job. I've been in the office alone for days and weeks on end and never had a problem. (Had one guy come around the desk at me in what he thought was a flirtatious manner but he was pretty easily controlled.) We have a client who is angry that his premium debited from his account when he cancelled the policy a few days beforehand and as a result had some other EFT payments bounce. Long ugly story short he's been verbally abusive to the staff here and at our Manhattan office because he isn't accepting the outcome of the issue or our resolution. The CSR from our Manhattan office called us back after he hung up on her a second time and warned us that his girlfriend was in the background making comments about "just going down there and trashing their office" and him saying something about coming down to the office. [interesting side note is the the boss has NO clue about this situation and is famous for hiding in his office until a disgruntled client leaves and THEN coming out to ask what was going on...]

I've called the local police and asked them to drive by periodically--especially after hours since cowards generally strike when they don't have to have a face-to-face confrontation--given the PD my cell # so they can reach me if something does happen after hours rather than tracking down the owner of the building... (and oh what a headache that would be. If they did breach the office for any reason we'd have to notify 1300 clients that they're information may have been accessed because our file cabinets don't lock. Yes, they should. Yes, the boss knows that. He's chosen to not address it.) I also alerted [livejournal.com profile] pastmagic that if he got an IM from me saying "call the PD" not to question me until AFTER he did it ;-) I think we're okay but I'd rather be sure.

(Update: just got the notice from our home office that they're refunding him more than he's actually due but feels that he is as a way of diffusing the situation. Hope it works.)

I also had a client issue a written complaint about me to the home office. I'm 100% in the right and have the documentation to support it but I hate having to go through the process of interviewing with the State boss and proving myself. Unfortunately there will be another one from a different client. Again, I'm in the right but the fact remains that I will have had three or four complaints lodged against me in a short period of time.

In other news, not much to report. Thankful for that I am.
