Oldest daughter has been complaining about her knee hurting for the last two weeks-ish. She's been wrapping it, taking ibuprofen, icing, etc. and it's not getting better. I figured she just sprained it cheerleading or practicing for the school musical, but after 2 weeks went ahead and took her to the doctor.

That was one piece of good news yesterday. The other was that she was selected for the all-state choir! I'm so proud I can't stand it! Eleven tapes from her school were submitted and 5 were selected. The school tied with another for the most selections in the state!! There are 160 members in the choir--chosen from the entire state. How COOL is that?

It was bittersweet good news because it means she'll have to come back from our family vacation in Hawaii a day early in order to participate. Luckily it's only one day so it should be okay.

All in all, a busy week and it's only Wednesday!

Had a good time trick or treating last night. Just went around our block-15 houses or so-and then drove to family members and special friends. Started at 6:00 and got home at 10:00. Of course, that's the way it's always been with my family. We lived in the country so it was always drive to trick or treat. We even missed a few people we should've seen. Oh well. Can't do everything.

Quote of the night--as we're pulling out of McDs. For whatever reason Matt says "No sh*t, Sherlock" and then realizes what he said. He says "ooops. sorry" and from the back seat we hear "It's okay. I won't repeat it." from the almost-six-year-old dressed as an Elizabethan Queen. We laughed long and hard for several minutes.

(Note to self: post pics of Queen Claire)

Still have orphan costumes to finish so I'll be sewing all night tonight. Hope to (NEED to) have them completely finished by the end of the weekend. You know where to find me...
